Hello, everybody....need some possible help

I have a bullfrog I adopted, now he is eating fine, but a gapping mouth and I can see a hint of his tougue..He does not chirp.and his aim for his food is off...Also, have not seen him poop? someone said that bullfrogs mouth gap when they are old and on thire way to die? any help out there? thanks
