I found this site called reptiles-n-critters.com. they have A. Moreletis for sale. i was thinking about buying one but im positive they are wild caught. do you think i should buy from there? is there a better place to buy them? this is the only place i know of. also the care. there arent to many care sheets out there but im assuming its the same as red-eyes. please correct me if im wrong it would be much appreciated
thanks,
Isaac
They are almost certainly wild caught - I know of no captive breeding source of this species. The care is the same as Red Eyes - you are right. As for ordering from them, I really don't know what to tell you. I don't like to give business to sellers of wild caught animals but if you want them and it's the only source then your choice is made.

I just did some checking around and I couldn't find any serious complaints about dealing with them.

Agalychnis moreletii - IUCN (Red List) status: Critically Endangered (CR).
Just something to think about.

yeah i really dont know. as you know kurt i was looking for clown tree frogs and i found this site but apparently the clowns were sold out so i was looking at their site and i came across this species. i already knew what they were etc. but i never knew they were on the market. so i dont know. if i do decide to buy one, ill let you know. since i found these frogs i did a bit of research and i found a source carrying for them and they looked some what healthy. Amphibiancare.com >> Gallery >> Other Amphibians
unfortunately they do not sell so i dont know what to do yet. but these people are breeding them so maybe they will start selling. who knows? they might. ill keep my fingers crossed.
ok o my god i was looking at their site and they are breeding golden mantellas(M. Aurantiaca) and also M. Madagascarinsis as well as many other rare species. first one ive ever seen to breed golden mantellas.
just go to the home page of the site i had above^ and click mantella poison frogs of madagascar. its at the bottom. these guys are crazy!
A bit unstable too. Their stock changes drastically each week, as do their shipping prices.
Just a month or so back, shipping was 100 USD no mater what was purchased.
Currently, a lot of their prices are extreme in my opinion.
I'm tempted buy something they have in stock but the shipping price is hard to swallow considering I live about 20 miles from where they ship.

Amphibiancare.com is Devin Edmonds' web site. He provided me with a photo for my article on red-eyes. In his book he states that Agalychnis annae is sometimes available, but I have yet to see any for sale. He has a picture of one on his web site and I have been meaning to e-mail him and ask him where can I get some, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
oh ok. do you think you can ask about the Moreletiis as well?
I guess I could, but then again you could as well. I believe his web address is on his site.
i was actually looking for a "contact us" or something like that but i didnt see anything so yeah. i thought since you knew him you had his email exclusively but okay i will ask then.
I have only exchanged a few e-mails with him.
oh ok well then i will send him an email
This is truly one of my dream species. Has anyone ordered from them since this post started?
No, but after looking through the website I really want to!
They have reed frogs!
