    Default New pacman enclosure

Idea from a guy who posts on the tarantula forums named robc. Its a drop front shoebox from the container store. Crystal clear front opening so if you rack your pacmans you can wedge it just between your shelves and changing the dishes, mysting, feeding is really easy with the door. Search for his youtube and container store and he shows how to build it. I drilled holes for ventilation but its hard to see. Guess we'll see how it works.

Looks awesome. The only question I got is, what are the measurements?

I just ordered 3 of the normal and 3 of the men size shoe boxes. These are cheap and efficient for keeping several horned frogs. I like how they are clear versus the other shoe boxes out there.

I think I am going to stack these up and then put a large heat mat on one side of them.

    Thanks for the idea!

YouTube - Nice enclosures made easy!

This is the link to that video he is talking about that makes the shoebox containers.

Those are nice but they are more expensive and you have to modify them. The shoe boxs can be stacked in towers or you could make a shelf for them.

The only thing I have to do is make some holes with my soldering iron. Drilling or poking holes is risky with hard plastics because you might crack it. The soldering iron makes perfect holes all th time.

@ John: Sweet... as far as humidity goes, it should hold pretty well, but about heating?

All you need to do is tape the heat mat to the side of the tubs.

Bottom is perfect as long as you arent stavking them. If you have multile frog like me you have to stack them to save space. Use cobra or ultratherm heat mats. The other heat mats arent as reliable. I use cobra on all of my setups.

I am currently using zoo meds, and they cost a lot more... I totally love this set up, but I have to replace the 2 set of heat mats for the two pacmans i have...

If the zoomeds are working for you thats fine. I had a mini zoomed heat mat haet up to 140 degree surface temp so I replaced it with the cobras. If your lucky you can find the cobras on sale at ebay for like $13. Most snakes breeders swear by cobra or ultratherm for there reliability.

So far, I only use my heat mat no more than 10 times for each of my frog tank, ever since I decrease the amount of the substrate to use in each of the pacman's tank by half of the block. Please keep me update as to how it works for you etc, that way I can expand my pacman's collection~

Forgot to mention that if you order from the container store be prepared to wait! I ordered my shoe boxs that were in stock on saturday and they still havent shipped. I am going to order somewere else if they dont ship tommorow.

Hey guys, I found a deal @ Target where 6 for 49.99, do you think it will work just as good as the one from the container store??

I didnt order the drop front. I ordered the standard clear shoebox which is a far better deal and is much more practical if you have mutiple pacmans.

But then, if I order standard clear ones, I already have 2 tanks that serves the same purpose.

If you are using aquariums these tubs save a lot of space and are stackable. The mens size is perfect for females and the normal is perfect for males. These tubs dont waste any vertical space. The drop front is triple the cost and has to by modified.
