    Default Little bugs?

I noticed some of the pillow moss in my tank had gone brown so i i pushed on it to see if it was holding any water..it was but when i pulled my finger away i noticed very small bugs crawling back into the moss.i imediately pulled the pieces of moss out and thru them away. I noticed just a couple in the cocoa husk..

    what are they?

    my tank holds two whites.

do i need to clean out all the substrate? will they make my frogs sick?

They could be springtails, which are used as food for tiny froglets and are harmless. Were they white? Did they move fast? And, did you notice any of them hopping?

It is hard to tell just from your description.

I'm with Jim. The possibilities are really spring tails or a free living mite. In either case, nothing to worry about. If you can't photograph them, do you think you could post a drawing of the shape?

Sounds like springtails. The most common varieties in the hobby are white, but there are "blue", "black", "pink" varieties as well that look darker.

I googled springtail images and there are a ton. Here's a link to the results http://www.google.com/images?q=sprin...w=1259&bih=843
