I always thought these guys were cool so i decided i want one.does anybody now the care for these guys.also a anole lizard snook in my house the other day.
Ooh, I've been wanting a tomato frog since I saw a pair for sale a year ago...by the time I got back to snag them, they were sold! I hope you will post pics of your new addition when you get him/her.
These frogs are pretty hearty and tough, and great eaters of a variety of insects that are appropriately sized. They usually do not exceed 4" svl, so a 10-15 gallon half/half setup would be perfect. They are not the best swimmers, so the water portion should not be more than 3" deep for an adult. They can handle a wide range of temperatures, but a stable temp in the 70's would make for a happy frog, as well as moderate humidity.
Make sure you get a captive bred one (most sold in the U.S. now I believe are CB but you never know). I read somewhere that they do better in pairs, but I don't know if this is true or not.
Hope this helps and if-or when-you get one, please post some pictures!!
thanks for the care info,im working on getting a baby tomato frog for thirty dollars.
