Looks like it could be a prolapse. I would soak the toad in warm water and see if it goes back in.

Thanks! I did soak Gama in warm honey water and it seemed to help BUT...... I put him into another container to quarantine him, as I read that you are not suppose to feed them for several days after the prolapse, and I used the opportunity to clean the entire enclosure. I kept checking on him and the prolapse was looking better although he was very still and his eyes were fully open, every now and then I saw him twitch a leg, but 4 hours later (from the time I found the prolapse and started soaking) when I checked last... he was gone. I'm so upset! I won't do an autopsy because I'm almost sure it was an impaction that caused the prolapse...idk??? But I'm too heartbroken to cut him open. I don't know what is happening? I am taking every precaution, changing water, dusting crickets and finally got the UVB light, but maybe it was too late??!! I also lost the butterfly that emerged too early and I was caring for but at least he exceeded his life expectancy, which is 10-14 days and he lived for 17 days!! But I am starting to feel beaten by my toads! I just pray my last two remain healthy, which they are! They are eating, bright eyed, shedding their skin, hopping around at night and appear normal! Idk... I am just absolutely heartbroken!!

Just some pics if Speckles & Shima (who just shed his skin 5 minutes prior to photo, so he’s looking shiny & healthy!) Speckles is looking quite handsome too! I changed the layout of their enclosure a bit when I cleaned it and Speckles spared no time digging himself into a cozy spot! I just wish I had taken some pics of Gama, other than his prolapsed rear end!

Add 5 drops of puple iodine to the water. I hope it gets better.

Thank you but Gama died later that evening. But it's good to know if it happens to either of my 2 remaining toads!
