I have a male and female pair of white’s, one male honey blue and one female Aussie blue phase. They’ve both been getting along fine until the start of breeding season. My female is still way too small to be mature so she’s not interested in my male’s advances. They are still the same size though. My issue is it seems he’s stressing her out, as I’m noticing her nose now has scarring/bruising. She’s never bumped into the glass before, his nose on the other hand has looked that way since coming to me from sandfire, but I’ve never seen him bump into the glass so I think it’s permanent. I’ve seen him mount her once, but I’ve noticed he’s biting her as well.
Should I separate them until breeding season is over? Is this normal behavior? Any help is greatly appreciated!
They’re currently in a 25gallon tall.
Bruising is a little worse now since these photos were taken, but not much.
