    Default cricket safety

    Hi All

I regularly gut load the crickets with apples, sweet potato ,yams and organic cereal. The crickets are kept in a large well ventilated minnow bucket . My issue is that this week the regular pieces of fruit got moldy before I could tell and remove it and I am assuming that the bugs ate it. There were no deaths from the bugs as far as I could tell. Would my pets develop health related illnesses from eating the bugs earlier this week. Are the crickets safe or unsafe to feed if I do a thorough clean of their bucket and place fresh food in their enclosure.

It’s unlikely that you’ll have problems. I just wouldn’t make a habit of it.
