I have 5 ADFs in a dirted 10 gallon, the 10 gallon has been set up for 6 days, but it's running a filter I seeded in my established 20 gallon for 3 months, the 20 has been up for over 2 years. Temp is 79.9, water is perfect (API liquid master). Boom. I've got tadpoles.
I've gotten A LOT of conflicting information and have no idea what the best method is, some guy said the tadpoles should be in water shallow enough so that the tadpoles don't even have to swim to gulp air, but my gut says that's a bit dramatic, some other lady said that I need to feed them algae and other plant based fry food, however I read that unlike most tadpoles ADF tadpoles are carnivorous and predatory from the very moment they hatch, so I've been feeding baby brine shrimp, but I do have spirulina on hand if I really need it. As they hatch I've been placing them in a mesh breeder box with a turkey baster and have floated some catappa leaves to make them feel secure, I was unwilling to remove them from the tank they're in because it's clean and stable, and they hatches there, so I didn't want to change their environment, as shallow gulper guy also suggested.
How am I doing, is there anything I need to do differently?
