Hi there
My ecoearth dries up fast as my house is dry so I've come to the conclusion about adding some sort of moss to my tank. With that being said what is the better option? wild moss or lichen from the forest or store bought frog moss. I used to use wild moss before but it always died on me for unknown reasons. I also know that moss presents the risk of impaction , however in my local area I usually find frogs and toads around some type of moss so I have to assume its alright with them. Any input?
I just started using store bought ZooMed sphagnum moss with my toads and they seem to like it. Took them some getting used to first but it does do a good job keeping the terrarium damp. It made the room smell terrible for the first few hours but it aired out pretty quick.
I think store bought would be the safest option as far as bacteria goes but that's just my estimate. It's worth mentioning that when I opened my box I found a live stick bug in the moss (The box does say it's all-natural, so...).
