    Default Whites treefrog substrate

Just picked up a whites. A little confused on substrate. Reptiles mag advised to use moss on top of coco fiber/eco earth so the substrate doesnt stick to them? Then I have read here that the moss can impact them. What works best for a whites?

I have tried so many different things for substrate for my White's. Right now, we are using Orchid Moss. You dampen it in warm water and then pack it into the terrarium. I like it right now- just because it's very thick, but movable. It holds in water which helps with the humidity aspect, and it's not very easy for a frog to try and eat because when you grab at it- all of the moss holds together, and so a frog probably wouldn't be able to swallow it. I'm not an expert, and right now I am still unsure of what substrate is the best- but right now: the orchid substrate is my personal favorite. It holds humidity, it clumps, and the frogs can't eat it, while they can still burrow when they want to.

I'm by no means an expert.... currently I use coco fiber with sphagnum moss on top.
I was advised to use live oak leaf litter on top of the coco fiber, which I've ordered online because my local pet store doesn't carry it.. I plan on taking out most of the sphagnum moss and replacing it with leaf litter.
    I hope that helps!
