My Cuban tree frogs, who are normally not shy, have been hiding since I introduced them to their new enclosure-should I worry or wait? Thanks!
I would think that they're just not used to the place yet. Have they come around since you posted?
Thanks badkelpie, and I don't think so because I've had these guys from tadpoles and this is their 3rd move. I found 2 had moved to the bottom and one looked terrible and lethargic so I did a Pedialyte soak and into temporary housing. They're still not moving much, eating or singing like they have for the 3 years we've had them. I'm thinking either a plant or something I used was toxic to them so I'm starting completely from scratch and they'll see a vet if they aren't improved in a couple days. The plastic flower pot pool, a unusual plant or hot glue used on the background maybe? There was no smell, everything sat over two weeks before they were introduced-Im stumped.
Yeah, sounds like something is toxic to them, but I don't know what it would be. I hope they're OK!
Thank you. I'll post their progress. I was so excited about the new terrarium and then this!
The boys are doing much better
Excellent news! I have some cuban tree frogs I've been raising from tadpoles. 5 are little frogs now, and 4 are still tadpoles. I'm going to have to find homes for a few as they grow up, or just get a giant tank.
