In order to encourage registration I've changed the articles so that only registered and logged in members can read the whole article (and if there's a call sound in the article, only members can play it). I welcome any feedback on this. To test it you'll have to log out.

Well what was happening was that people would load up our site, read the care articles and leave. With the partial articles available to unregistered people, they were forced to register to read the rest of the article. This helps to encourage participation on the forum. I think for the most part it was a positive move.

Hmm I haven't tested it but does it allow for the viewing of pictures.
It lets you see the photos that are in the section of the article viewable to non members.

Hmm I would test it out for like a week and see if membership growth rises. Also I would try to see if those members are on often. Because they might become members just to read some, not come back and not participate.
Even if that is the case, it benefits the frogs they keep (hopefully).
Tom this has been in place for several months already.

Oh haha. Have you seen a change?
We did.

It coincided with an increase. I believe it was a very positive thing.
