Our pacman seems healthy but refuses all feeders except crickets. He does not like nightcrawlers, defrosted pinkies, dubias, waxworms, or phoenix worms. Would like to diversify his diet. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Blatta lateralis or “red runner” roaches are a good alternative to crickets. They move quickly but are on the small side. The other feeders you listed may be too slow to initiate a feeding response or your frog may just find them unpalatable. Bear in mind though, it’s not the end of the world if your frog only takes crickets. As long as you gut load and supplement appropriately they are ok as a staple. 25 years ago crickets were one of very few feeders available and I never had problems.
Dan, thank you. Will see if i can get red runner roaches.
