My Whites tree frog got caught in the door as I was closing it, his skin is cut open almost the entire length of his body. He seems to be acting OK but it just happened a few hours ago. The cut is not any deeper than just the top layer of skin. will the skin grow back? Should I take him to an exotic vet? I do know of one that I take my chickens to and I have seen reptiles in his office in the waiting room but not a frog.
It's hard to tell you what to do without seeing a photograph. Is the frog eating for you now? Does the wound appear to be healing? Does the frog have any impaired movement?

I took him to the exotic vet, , he has about 10 stitches, and is doing better today. Still not out of the woods. They also gave him a deworming med, and said the prior to his surgey that could have been the cause of his not eating well.
Im glad your Whites has seen the vet. We dont have vets here that deal with frogs. I hope the little guy makes a full recovery. Please keep us updated. Good luck.
Fingers crossed for a full recovery.

I hope he gets well soon! He's a little trooper for sure, after going through something like that. I hope that everything will be well soon enough. Good job taking him to a vet.
Sadly my little buddy passed away today. I will miss his little black froggy eyes. I still have a Dumpy Blue frog, but the Whites was my favorite.
So sorry to hear about your loss. It's always hard to lose a special pet.
So sorry.
