I am currently setting up a vivarium for some read eyed tree frogs. I am having a hard time deciding what plants to put in as it seems like I don't have many options as most I look up come up as toxic. The plants I would like to add but not sure if they are safe for the frogs are:
Schefflera arboricola - Dwarf Umbrella
Pothos (or any other type of climbing vine thats safe)
philodendrons
I have read that these plants are toxic if ingested but I'm not sure if I should still use them in the tank?? Especially the Schefflera arboricola as I like it a fair bit but I do know that the
schefflera actinophylla is toxic but do not know if the smaller version is also? And if so are they okay for the frogs to sit on?
Any other suggestion of plants welcome! I currently have a Boston fern, parlor palm and a baby bromeliad.
I love the schefflera plant bummer to hear its poisonous. So if insects eat the plant then would they still carry the toxins to the predator? Intrested if anyone has seen the ugly side of this plant.

So I scoured the internet for the past 2 hours and could find any claims of reptile/amphibian death from the schefflera. After my 2 hour scour I did learn that most deaths occur from buying before sick animals or have poor tank husbandry.

Pothos is only poisonous if consumed. Crickets usually don't eat the plants they eat decaying matter, poop, veggies, fruit, other feeders such as waxworms. I even tested the crickets and put pothos in their bin. They never chewed it. Should be fine and can take over your enclosure. It's able to grow in water and will climb.
