Hello all, I am new here. Yesterday my son found a large frog (I believe a green frog) in our yard with an open wound where his front leg used to be. We called a friend who rescues wildlife and she told us that we could A)let nature take its course, or B) bring him inside, let him rest and heal.
We currently have him in a 10gal tank with some dirt from outside a shallow dish of de-chlorinated water, and a branch to hide under. We put some silver solution wound care ointment on his nub and bought some grubbs and crickets. He has eaten, seems to be resting comfortably but I honestly don't know what I'm doing, and what else I should be doing. Is the dirt alright or should I have him on something like wet paper towels? I don't want to hurt his wound. I'd be so grateful for any advice!
