hello!! i am new to the forum, looking for some advice. i work at pet store where we have a visually impaired pac man frog (the result of too many crickets in his cage). after treatment for several months and no improvement they’ll be removing his eye. i will be adopting him after the procedure. i’ve been doing research and i’ve read that a varied diet is important. he eats nightcrawlers. vet said no crickets, with one eye he just doesn’t have an advantage over them. something slow moving. (and any other advice is appreciated too!)
That's awful about what happened to that poor frogs eye. That's wonderful that you have adopted him and are giving him a loving home. I believe dubia roaches are considered slow moving and they are a very popular and nutritious feeder. I would give him those. You can always tong feed him things also due to his impaired vision.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life, freely.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops. Please keep us posted regarding your frogs progress. In this case you will probably need to tong feed. (I’d recommend bamboo tongs over metal) appropriately sized dubias are a good feeder as well as occasional butter worms and hornworms for variety. Repashy supercal is a good all purpose supplement to dust with. Personally I’m not a fan of nightcrawlers but many hobbiests swear by them. Good luck
