Default Where to buy Pacific Chorus? + Care sheets

A little background. My 6 year old son has taken to the idea of owning a frog. He's an apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree, I owned several pets including many reptiles when I was younger. I have not ever had a frog through. Through searching this forum I saw that Pacific Chorus Tree Frogs are fairly easy frogs to keep and are active during the day. However, I cannot find anywhere that sells them.

Also, every care sheet I see on this website does not work and sends me to a 404 error link. If anyone has a working Pacific Chorus Tree Frog care sheet, that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Chorus frogs, in general, aren't bred in captivity, or even offered for sale. They are one of those species where if you want one, you will have to catch your own.
In my opinion, Chorus frogs are a poor choice for a first frog, especially for an inquisitive child. They are tiny, fragile, secretive, require tiny prey and cannot be handled.

Ok, thanks for the info. I was mostly looking for something diurnal, if they existed.

If you'd like my opinion on a great starter species, I can't think of anything better than the native American toad. Great feeders, easy to care for, and thrives under a wide variety of conditions in captivity. They can even withstand a small amount of gentle handling, if need be.

Thanks for the recommendation. My son actually caught a grey tree frog last night, so we might be keeping that one. Although I see that care sheet also doesnt work.

In my experience I find that tree frogs are a great first frog to have, they don't mind being handled and enjoy being perched on your arm. A grey tree frog is probably the cheapest option just because they can be found all across NA. White's tree frogs are very easy to take care of and I'd absolutely recommend them because they are large. By the way toads often despise being handled even though they are rougher species so suitable for handling. And a species of chorus frog that you can buy are Spring Peepers, but all chorus frogs are very small so cannot be handled much, and food is always hard to find.
