Default Needing more information about whites tree frog

Hi my name is Samantha and my husband and I are currently doing research about whites tree frog. We would like three and I would like to make it a bioactive tank. I've never had a bioactive tank so any information that you guys have even if I've already read it on another form would be amazing if you guys have any websites that have plants that are really good for whites tree frogs I would love that and if you guys have a tank recommendation for three frogs that would be wonderful to I'm thinking about a 55 gallon tank for them that seems a little big since there will probably be babies but I know that's what they need for when they're adults hopefully. Just trying to get as much information possible before I make any purchases

As far as bioactive setups go theyíre pretty easy to establish. And bigger is always better especially with a larger frog such as a whites treefrog (litoria Caerulia). They produce a lot of waste so a colony of springtails and isopod make a great addition. All my vivariums are bioactive and when five correctly it works very well.

One suggestion though. A 55 may be a bit big for three juveniles. A better fit would be a 29 high so you can more easily monitor them. You could also partition the 55 with some plexiglass until they grow into it.

Thank you so much for such a fast reply. How long did it take you to have your isopods and springtails cleaning your tank? Like do I need to set everything up and let it grow before adding frogs? blocking off part of the tank seems like the best idea so that way I only have to buy one tank LOL thank you so much for the advice

Iíll go through the steps in my builds from start to finish for you:
    1. Layer of leca clay balls for drainage (2-4 inches)
    2. cover drainage layer with substrate barrier (I use fine vinyl window screen)
    3. Add ABG mix substrate
    A. scatter some activated charcoal on the substrate barrier
    B. Add mix of coco fiber, sphagnum moss tree, fern fiber
    C. Top with leaf litter (magnolia or live oak)
    4. Add microfauna and let it cycle for two weeks

I maintain a master springtail culture so I add from it. You canít over do it with them. add some fish food flakes under the leaf litter when you first introduce them to feed on while they establish and you should be set. It is wise to pick up a master culture of springtails for future use if needed.
