    Default Dubia roach colony dying

I know this is a the frog forum, but I’ve noticed that many of you have Dubia colonies. Recently I’ve cleaned out my bin and replaced all the egg crates. Also split my adults up into a breeder bin. Now I’ve been noticing an unusual amount of dead roaches. Any thoughts?? Thanks for your time.

All sizes or just adults who are dead?

Yes all sizes, and it’s happening in both bins, mostly to the adults though. It’s weird because this colony was exploding with life before I tampered with it. Temps are in the low 80s and humidity is a steady 60%, pretty sure I have good ventilation. Diet is the same as it’s always been. Could it be because I separated the adults out. I put a 5 to 1 female/male ratio.

To be honest, it's hard to know when things like that happens. Tampering might throw things off for a while. Hopefully they will bounce back. I sometimes think that adults play a bigger role in the smaller ones life even if they aren't supposed to take care of them.

So my dubia look like they are recovering nicely. I looked through there bins last night and found only fast moving healthy roaches. I estimate I lost about 10% maybe a little more and mostly adults and sub adults. The bin that had nothing but adults (my new breeder bin) got hit the hardest. Sure wish I knew what happened, so I can avoid this in the future. Thank to everyone that replied.
