    Default Another new face!

Hey guys! I only just got my giant Asian mantis that I posted about and since named Lee (I'll tell you about the name choice later,) but I also just got an email that eastern collared lizards were back in stock and I've been wanting one for a very long time and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get one as I assume they sell out quick. For those who don't know about them they are technically called common collared lizards but many places still sell them as eastern which is ironic because the only places in eastern and central North America you find them are in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. I consider them a southwestern lizard as they have a much wider range in the American southwest and northern Mexico. If you've never seen one go to google images and look up an adult male. They are absolutely gorgeous with blue and yellow, hints of green and lots of beautiful spotted patterns. Even females make up for in patterning what they lack in color. I hope I have a male as I've been stunned by their beauty since I was a kid and saw them in animal books I had but this lizard is still young and regardless of gender I'm thrilled. Since they are mostly southwestern lizards I was originally going to name a confirmed male Cochise after the legendary Apache chief but since I don't know yet I'm currently going with the more gender neutral sounding Yuma after Yuma Arizona with it's famous frontier/western history.

Thanks! When he sits under his light he almost has a greenish hue.
