Hey guys!
So I wanted to get some opinions before I act. I’ve had my male ACF for years, it’s probably going on 9-10 years and he used to have fish roommates but he ate them all, which I knew was inevitable because he kept getting bigger and bigger when I first got him. Now he is a big hunk of a frog and has been all alone. I was thinking of getting him another ACF roommate. He has been giving his, what I assume is a mating call for the last couple months. Would getting him a lady friend be too much work for me if they mated and laid eggs? I don’t mind there being extra frogs and expanding if the eggs survived but would I be dealing with hundreds of baby frogs or like one or two? Should I just get him a guy friend instead?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks!
I don't think adding a female to the tank is a bad idea. The frogs lay many eggs, but if you want to get rid of them you can just freeze the eggs for a couple of days. Also, just make sure that the female is a decent size compared to the male (Just make sure the female isn't way too small or way too big). The tadpoles also are very easy to care for, so overall I think your plan is a very good plan!
