Default Can you identify this frog?

So here is the frog I wrote about in my previous thread. http://www.frogforum.net/general-dis...bc-canada.html I just want to double check with the experts that this is in fact a Budgett's frog. Also a pic of his 20gallon tank with turtle landing.

Your ID is correct. I love these guys. How do you find it as a pet?

He is so unlike any frog I have seen in person...and very strange to handle. I have read that Budgett's Frogs are also known as Freddie Kruger Frogs and are extremely defensive and not afraid to attack! This guy seems like a sweet simple frog. It may be because he is not very healthy after his life at the pet store. He let me wipe his face and pick him up a couple times to take some quick photos and transfer into his new home. When I say simple I mean not too intelligent. When I had him on the table to take pictures he kind of just moved in a circle a couple times and then tried to burrow with his back legs in the invisible dirt. When I pick him up he just tried to back up and again dig in that non existent dirt. As a pet I am not so certain he is the best...but its hard to say because of his condition. So far he has not left the water and spends most of his time submerged in one spot. Not terribly interesting to watch. I will try feeding him today and see if he perks up.

That's about right. These frogs are related to Pacman frogs (same family) and have similar approaches to life, except Pacman frogs are terrestrial and Budgett's frogs are aquatic. Just like Pacman frogs, they don't tame well and they aren't very interactive except when they think food is on the cards.

Hmmmm, well, at least it looks interesting! And will hopefully be easy to care for being so inactive. I am still jealous....
