So i've got a very lil bitty frog he/she is barely hitting quarter i only got he/she this small because it me 3 months to find a pixie without ordering online. the breeder/ old owner feed them red wrigglers but the shop swapped the food of choice to tiny crickets, Which is what i am feeding the lil buddy now but the problem is that i worried because i can't feed buddy in the cage he cant catch the tiny crickets well he/she can but he doesn't eat that much if i do that. So as the shop and breeder recommended i take buddy out and put him in a Tupperware container with a warm water paper towel set up and yes i make sure the water is safe and he does eat a lot in the container but i am very worried with how much it stresses him/her.
anything else i can do and any tips and should i stop feeding him/her like that
Set up is a ten gallon with Eco earth two water bowls one on the cold side and one on the heat side and a fake plant for a odd hide spot and it is heated by a 40 watt dome light that gets 75 on cold side and 80 in the heat side.
Hi there,
as long as it’s eating, I wouldn’t worry about anything. I find that my baby frog had some trouble catching crickets at first but as it has gotten older, it’s getting much better at it. You can even try using feeding tings, they work great and the frog will quickly come to associate the tongs with food which will make feeding it a lot easier when it gets older.
Your setup sounds perfectly fine for your little it.
good luck!
