I feel a little silly for asking about this, but I'd rather be safe than sorry since my girl Moochy is already having troubles and I don't need her tankmate to add to the pile, haha. A few days ago, I noticed Fatty had a little bit of a "loose caboose" and her vent wasn't as tidy as it had been in the past. I don't really know when it had changed or if it was so gradual I didn't notice it, but I can happily say she pooped a day ago and it didn't make it any worse or better. She's been primarily eating nightcrawlers with a few small crickets as of recent. Nothing has really changed in her habits. She's a bit of a clumsy climber, so she only climbs up to bask and then returns to the ground to relax. She's done this her whole life, btw, so I don't perceive this as a sign of something amiss. I don't believe it's age related since Moochy's rear looks just fine.
Should I take preventative measures before it gets worse? Has someone had their frog's vent look like this before it prolapsed? Any and all info is welcome, I've tried to dig around but came up empty for vent issues that weren't straight up a prolapse.
Sorry to assault everyone with frog butt close-ups, but hopefully you were prepared for that when you clicked on the link.
Looks just fine to me
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Thanks for the reassurance. She's behaving normally so I guess I shouldn't be too concerned, lol.
It's good you're keeping an eye on it. Prolapse can be nasty. It looks fine to me, but then I am not an expert.
