Thread: First time build. Filtration questions

Default First time build. Filtration questions

I'm thinking about building a vivarium with an egg crate false bottom and a great stuff background. It is only a 29 gallon tank, so I was thinking of using a sump or canister filter to save room and for ease of maintenance. I plan on drilling holes for bulkheads myself.... I have never used a sump for an aquarium before and have been looking online and watching youtube videos to try to figure it out. I'm not sure where I should place the bulkheads... I only need about 4" of water in the tank and do not plan on having any kind of waterfall... Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
