Hi All, I attached a photo of one of my red eye's. This morning I checked it out and it was dark colored, now it looks much lighter than normal and there are these dark spots on it. Can anyone tell me if I need to worry. They are actually my grandson's frogs, I just care for them. We have had them since last September when we bought them as babies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The skin texture is sort of weird. Is it eating? How's the temp and water? Soaking more than normal? I'd suspect some kind of fungal thing from the skin texture, you'd probably need to get it checked out by a vet.
(Please note I'm not a vet, I'm just guessing.)
Thank you for your response. I emailed the breeder and sent him a picture because I was worried. He said nothing to worry about and the next morning the frog looked just like normal. He said sometimes they look this way before they shed. Frog is fine and back to normal, but I want to thank you very much for taking the time to answer.
Thanks for the follow up. I had no idea this species looked like that before a shed. But now I know!
