    Default 26 gallon MN “swamp”

I’m in the process of getting a 26 gallon bowfront setup for maybe a group of 6 chorus frogs but need to make it as bioactive as possible. I’m thinking about putting red worms, millipedes, tons of isopods, springtails, earwigs (we only have tiny ones here) and other insects. For plants I was thinking of using only 3 species (minus moss), we have a species of small rush like grass, some marsh marigold thing and duckweed. Here is the tank right now, I’m still wondering if I should take out some of the wood flats and get more branches?

I love it, it's like a Halloween-themed tank. If you are only using those few plants, then having more horizontal pieces of wood to increase usable surface area shouldn't be a problem because it won't interfere with the lighting of plants underneath.

Okay, I will do that. Can the frogs rest on the branches that thin?

That skull looks awesome, it goes perfectly with the theme. Some of those branches may be too thin, but I'm not entirely sure, as many people do use manzanita branches (which I assume those are?) for red eyed tree frogs. Maybe some thin but not too thin, thoroughly baked and sanitized oak or ghostwood. Ghostwood in particular would go perfectly with the swamp theme as well. A small cypress knee or two would also give it that swampy feel. Just some thoughts...

Yeah, except we don’t get cypress here. I can look for other woods. But from what I’ve ready they don’t climb as much as true tree frogs (hyla) that’s why they are pseudacris now

I took the tank down and layer new substrate. I’m thinking about using only Minnesota native moss, ferns and other related species
