Hi everyone. My son wild captured a toad this summer and he's become a well loved family pet. He eats crickets exclusively. Lately we've found him upside down a few times. He also hasn't been eating. We put him right side up and he digs down into his coconut mulch. Any ideas what's up? He's still right side up tonight. Definitely not eating.
(I thought more people would answer you in the toad section, guess not.)
Like Tggamper said in your other thread the rolling over could be a couple of things. Does he eat well normally? If you could tell what the temp and humidity are like that would be great. It could be he's trying to hibernate? The temp may be a little low, or even if it isn't I've heard of wild toads trying to hibernate even in warm inside tanks.
The 'being upside down' thing seems to indicate either stress or some kind of seizures. If he's stressed you might want to cover the tank for a while and leave some crickets there for him.
