Default Sudden death of red eyed leaf frog.

I dont know how this happened, but one of my liitle red eyed leaf frogs died. i had put them on eco-earth for the first time and they hated it. i switched there bedding back to damp paper towels. but while i was doing that i took a deli cup and put a little bit of luke warm bottled water in the cup soo he/she could get the eco-earth off tghem and just as i put the frog in the cup i realized there may be too much soo when istarted to take him out he stretched his legs out and looked like he was dead. he acted ok but saddly he died later that . i dont know why but i would like to know .1. so i dont make the mistake again and 2. because i am curious as to how this happened.
    -thanks!!!

That's is not enough information. Let's start with this.
I always cover coco-fibre with moss, leaves or something so the frogs don't contact it directly.

    1. Did you feed the frog while in the eco-earth? If so compaction could be the cause.
    2. Was the water dechlorinated?
    3. Were your hands free of any chemicals or cleaning products?
    4. Did the frog's head go under water and possibly take in water?
    5. Is there anything we need to know? Like was it accidentally dropped or jump out of your hands and take a long fall to the floor?

yea, the frog ate while on the eco-earth. the water is shaws* brand " natural spring water" i read the ingrediants and is said " spring water".the frog may have taken in water but he was only in the water breifly. those wold be the only 3 scenarios listed in the list. thanks also for mentioning that you place things like leaves and other items on top of eco-earth!
    -thanks!

It may have been a poisoning. My guess that there may have been some sort of toxin, either on your hands or in the container used. Maybe it could've also been stress.

How is the other one doing?

Stress can do some very strange things, definately a possibility.
I agree with Kurt that it sounds like poisoning.
Same question, how is the other?
