I finally got my beautiful ABF!! I’ve always been a snake person, but after getting my son a Pac-Man frog I am quickly becoming obsessed. Can anyone tell me if it is a him or her? When I first got it, it was so small and cute. Now 15 days and who knows how many Dubia and Super Worms latter, it has at least quadrupled in size. Very hungry frog here. I know to look at the head and that it might be too young to tell yet. It’s about 3” now, any guesses?
Unfortunately, you probably won't know until the frog gets a bit larger. It should start coraking soon if it's a male, around the 4-inch range. I bought mine at around 4 inches and he croaked within about a week of me getting him. He usually croaks late at night. You'll probably hear it(or not hear it) eventually depending where you keep the frog.
Regardless of the gender, congrats on the new frog!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. S/he did grunt at me today when I unearthed it to feed. Can female ABFs make noise?
That's a great question. Generally female frogs aren't very vocal, but may make noise when disturbed, but this is often more along the lines of a clicking sound(My experience with this comes from my toads), not very audible. Unfortunately I have only owned a male, so my experience with this specifically is limited. If the noise was low-pitch and pretty audible, it may indicate it's male. You'll find out for sure later though! Hopefully another user is 100% sure on that one!
