Just picked this frog up Saturday... tried to see if I could spot any nuptial pads, but couldn't really see that well, and didn't want to stress the little bugger out too much. It's eating great, and has pooped twice, so that's good... right now it's in a 12x12x18 zilla cage, but I have a standard 10 gallon, and a custom 14 gallon tank with the floor space of a 20 gallon long available for upgrades...
No name yet, gotta figure out if it's a boy or girl first...
Congrats on getting a new frog! Good lucking figuring out gender!

yay I remember my first pac in foutunatly he died awhile ago he was 10 years old :_(
Turns out it's not the best idea to feed nightcrawlers to a pacman by hand. She got my fingers instead of the worm last feeding, so we're switching to tongs...
That does sound like a good idea, I've heard when they get larger their bites really hurt
Yeah, I've heard the same, but it was more of a surprise to me than painful... Fed her a worm today with the tongs, works like a charm!
I'm about 75% sure it's a girl, but I still could be wrong...
I have got it couple times from my big female Albino Cranwelli and it is sometimes more of a surprise then it hurts, and mine wasn’t from feeding most the time but just from haveing my fingers in the wrong place at the wrong time. For a big chunky frog they can jump faster and further then you would think too. My worst was one time when I was moveing a plant so I could get to her to feed her and she jumped and she actually sunk both those bottom teeth into the bottom of my finger nice and deep, that time I can say it didn’t feel good and my finger bled a lot L.O.L But she also 4 and 3/4 inches big, and by far the meanest of all my frogs. Out of honestly she puts my Ornates to shame when it comes to feeding and aggressiveness, she is also my oldest and favourite.
Yeah, they are definitely deceptive... they appear to be fat lazy frogs, but they sure can move when they want to... such cool animals...
Hopefully I can avoid getting really chomped... I imagine it wouldn't feel too nice if she really got a hold of my fingers...
Pacman Frogs and African Bullfrogs are amazing frogs. All that deceptive bulk and inactivity giving way to near unbelievable speed and power.

Here's a fun thread about frog bites I found a while ago. Made me a little anxious about my Pixie frog lol
Edit: Oh right, the nameless bullfrog did almost get me going for a pinkie I was lowering it into the feeding area. Got my hand with his tongue. It feat big and cold. He really surprised me lol

Frog's doing great! Pretty sure it's female, but haven't come up with a name yet... she's eating great, mostly night crawlers with some crickets every once in a while... worms are soooo much easier to keep than crickets, I'm glad all of my frogs like crawlers!
Nice been thinking about getting one of those frogs.
Pacman frogs and African Bullfrogs are great additions to any frog collection! You just don't always get to see them lol.

yep would have to agree with Daybrake on that one. I see my 4 frogs when I check on them after lights go out for 5 minutes, feeding time which again is at night and if I get downstairs fast enough in the morning when lights go on I get to see them before they submerge themselves I cocofibre. L.O.L Oh and I get to see them every couple weeks for there routine bath, they like to leave big stinky presents for me in there water bowl rather then use it to chill and hydrate. So I will give them each a nice 20 minute soak every couple weeks.
But they're so cool! Mine doesn't completely bury herself, so I can see her whenever... I think reptilestation should get one...
He sure does need to get one! Ahahah mine goes swiming underground he only shows up when he's hungry, other than that he's out at night sometimes i see him. Always underground ahahah but yes they're very cool
