Default Burrowable Soil Mix for planted vivarium

So, for my Treefrogs I mixed a basic ABG knockoff:
Basic Organic Topsoil, Orchid Bark, sphagnum moss, and aquarium charcoal. I spent around 20 bucks. From ABG it was missing tree fern fiber(or was it tree fern mulch?) and Peat Moss.
I want to upgrade my Woodhouse's Toads into a new tank in about 6-8 months, give or take, from their 20 gallon sterilite long bin to a 40 g long glass tank with background and a native plant or two.
I was thinking about my soil mix. It ought to support Wandering Jew(Tradescantia Zebrina) and maybe another less hardy plant as well. I plan to get the peat moss this time, probably from a hydroponic supply. I want it to be comfy for burrowing. I was thinking:
Topsoil, Peat Moss, Sphagnum Moss, and...
I dont know. For toads and burrowing frog is charcoal like in ABG(and alternatives like aquarium charcoal/carbon) safe? Also, should I crush the little bits of aquarium carbon up before placing them in the soil mix? They suggested running over charcoal in a bag to mash it to small size. I figured aquarium carbon was already pretty small.
Should I leave the orchid bark in or grind it to fine bits and powder, perhaps with a cheap throwaway electric coffee grinder as a home depot employee suggested when I bought it?
    Thanks guys.
