I've done lots of research and I've finally prepared an enclosure to keep Dumpy tree frogs. Problem is, I don't know where to get any. I've found a few sites (Backwater Reptiles, LLL Reptile) but many people seem to have had negative experiences with these. Underground Reptiles is a source i'm looking into, but I'm not sure about the health/age of these frogs as it says they are "Field Collected." Can't find any reptile expos I'm willing to drive to. Help!
I've found them at various reptile stores before. Ive heard pretty good things about LLLReptiles though, including a review where the frogs arrived in their deli cups sideways. Some lived, other had died. They updated a day or two after with an explanation from them, and soon after they replaced the frogs that didn't make it. I've never ordered from them myself, however. If you search you'll eventually find them. They're a pretty common species in the pet trade.
I'd be interested to see the negative reviews, though. I've been considering them myself for some time now.
1 Male Giant African Bullfrog
2 Woodhouse's Toads
11 Pacific Treefrogs
1 Dubia Roach Colony
2 Australian Green Treefrogs
I bought one from LLLReptiles and my experience was fine, of course one experience doesn't give you an overview.
I wouldn't go for "field collected." Wild frogs are more likely to carry excessive parasites and do badly in captivity.
