Default My little pacman frog.. impacted... ARRGH

This is my first post on this forum, so wanted to firstly say hi, and secondly wanted to share my experience. Went to PetSmart to buy some fish food, saw a lil pacman frog i had to have. I like rescuing stuff from them sometimes, and this is EXACTLY why. Day 2 of ownership, im checking on him, and notice he seemed in distress.. Turns out, a piece of sphagnum moss was sticking out of his rear... I immediately did a soak, but this thing seemed real bad. Having experience with this before (not recommending anyone without experience do this) i gently assisted in removing the impaction. I could not believe how big this piece of moss was. This goes to show you should never use moss with these little guys. I feel if i wasnt paying attention, this would have killed him. As it is, im worried about him, and will keep an eye on him the next few days to make sure he eats, and retains his color. Ill link some vids so you can see this.

    Hey man.

Wauw, poor little guy! <3 I know how you feel - petshop amphibians and reptiles are often very badly taken care of and suffer in their various ways (at least here in DK). Good on him that he ended up with a guy who had experience in handling this.

Hope all turns well for him If it isn't known to you already, gutfed, healthy nightcrawlers are often a very good, nutritious and "soft" feeder, excellent for helping a metabolism back up and full of nutrition, if they've been missing that for a while (at least to my knowledge reg. terrestrial toads)
