I know some people who feed mice almost exclusively... Can I feed chicks?

Hi! While Pacman frogs can certainly eat both pinkies and chicks, there are a number of reasons pinkies are considered an "occasional" food, or treat. They contain bones, and are high in fat. I've also read that mammal fat specifically is very hard for them to digest. A diet of entirely pinkie mice is very unhealthy for frogs, and can lead to obesity. Chicks have a number of the same/similar problems, and I've heard the beak can be hard to pass, as well as the feathers. That being said, I have read about people feeding their Pacman frogs chicks, but I wouldn't recommend it more than one every month or two. I hope this helps.

Thanks. I won't feed pinkies. I'll wait to feed it grown mice. Ill try not to feed chicks more than once every two weeks.

You can feed it pinkies just not so often, in moderation they are not bad for him. I give mine pinkies when they are babies and small juveniles about once a month and give small fuzzy mice to my adults. Its just not good to give them to him as staple pretty much. The fat content can cause liver failure and the high protein can cause it to develop cloudy eye which this kind of cloudy eye is irreversible and can eventually cause blindness. And if your worried about impaction from bones the pinkies bones would be a lot easier to digest and easier on his digestive system then a full grown mouse.

I also feed my assorted frog the occasional pinkie, one every 1-2 months. It's a treat they seem to really enjoy.
