    Default Problem with frog

Hello, I was away for a night and just got home and my Whites tree frog looks like this. I live about a good hour and 1/2 away from any emergency vet, so I wanted to see before went if this has happened to any ones frog before? I don't even know what to make of it. She does not seem to be in any pain, and I haven't moved her yet to inspect it more.

Any help will be appreciated. I will be getting her to a vet shortly.

Hi, that's a very bad prolapse and by the bulge on her side either some of it already went back in and it went back to the wrong position, or there is something stuck in her intestine. Good thing your going to the vet. Till you get there if you put her in a bath of water and sugar it sometimes help the prolapse go back in. Or you could sprinkle a little sugar right on the prolapse, I would try the bath first. Either then that you are going to need the help of the vet by the looks of it.

    Thank you for your reply.

Over the holiday weekend, I was unable to get her seen as I had hoped too. I live in a very rural part of NC, so finding a exotic vet proved trickier than I thought. With the help of you and a few other forums, I soaked her in a warm sugar water bath, and also did pedialyte baths as well. I gently managed to get the bulge back in with a Q tip, and continued to soak her in warm baths.

The vet said she probably has a hernia, and that it would hopefully go away on it's own, and this was a random occurrence. She wanted us to feed her right away. So now we are just waiting for a successful poop!

Just wanted to update on my little lady, and let everyone know in case they are dealing with the same issue.
