Default Species of Toads by size

Hi frog forum! I've been keeping woodhouse's Toads for a while now, and I really like them. They spurred me into looking into other species. I've ways wanted a Cane Toad or two, but they are illegal in California for invasive species concerns, which is understandable. I then looked at Incilius (Bufo) Alvarius, the Sonoran Desert Toads, and settled on it despite implications involved in owning one, only to find they are considered an endangered species in California. Now all I can think of are Bufo Japonicus or the Cururu Toad. The Japanese Giant toad seems like a pain to aquire, and I found little info on acquiring a Cururu Toad. Anyone know anything or have other ideas on large toads? I've also been looking at smooth sided toads. Thanks in advance.

Colorado River toads are the largest North American species if I'm not mistaken and they are legal in CA.

Unfortunately Incilius Alvarius(Colorado River Toad/Sonoran Desert Toad) is currently considered an endangered species in California and is illegal to own, capture, import or export. I was planning on road trip to catch some before I found out.

So after a little research, inciilius, the genus of the Sonoran Desert Toad/Colorado River Toad I found another good candidate. Incilius Nebulifer, the Gulf Coast toad is a pretty good sized toad, up to around 5 inches long, and is toad tripable. Someday in the future I'd like to get Bufo Japonicus or live in another state for a while, maybe get a few cane toads.

I have a Colorado river toad. They are really an easy toad to keep and quite interesting, love their big eyes!
