Default Green Tree frog obese or bloated?

Hey there!, i'm new to owning tree frogs(more of a gecko person as you can tell by the user name) but i've had this American green tree frog named pepe for about 2 years now(I got him when he was 6 months old) pepe has recently gained some weight and i'm really nervous that he is bloated and may have edema or something i'll post some pictures below! let me know what you guys think!

PS: that is not his permanent tank I just took pictures of him while I was cleaning his tank!

Also while I was uploading the pictures he secreted this mucus?? this is hard to explain but he kind of bunched up closed his eyes, opened his mouth and started rubbing it out with his hand? I tried googling what it was but I couldn't find anything. I feed him 1-2 mealworms and crickets evry couple days dusted in calcium and multivitamin. Any input is appreciated

Good news! The mucus stuff is fine. If it looked like a little string and he opened and closed his mouth while making weird faces, that's normal. He was just shedding his skin and eating it.

He doesn't look overfed. He also looks like an Australian Green Tree Frog (also called Dumpy or White's). If he was an American Green, he'd have something that looked like a white racing stripe down one side. I guess he could be a Squirrel Tree Frog, but those don't reach more than 2 inches.

Assuming he is a White's Tree Frog, you don't seem to be feeding him too much. You can go look for pictures of wild frogs of this species in Australia or Indonesia, frogs that have to exercise to find food and run from predators and probably have parasites as well. Most of those wild frogs are about this chubby. A general rule of thumb is to check the fold of skin over their ears. If it doesn't hang down more than halfway, the frog's not obese.

NP! Glad I could tell you your frog was okay. Your feeding looks okay already, maybe only increase it slightly, like two bugs more often than one. Here's a care sheet: http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Care...og-Care-Sheet/
