    Default Temperature

    Hi,

I've had to join this forum as I need some advice and I really don't trust my local pet shop to help. I have a large tank with 3 x African Clawed Frogs inside and 2 x 'fancy' Goldfish. My frogs are fairly docile I suppose you could say, they live in harmony with the fish haha.

However, my fish have got ich, and the best way to remove it is to up the temperature in the tank to 30 degrees Celsius. I'm aware this isn't ideal for the frogs, but would they be ok in the temperature for a limited amount of time (2 weeks) or should I move them to another tank for now? I've read that the medication for ich isn't always helpful and is REALLY harmful to african clawed frogs, as well as aquarium salt.

From what I've read on the internet the frogs also cannot contract ich, is this correct?

I've had the frogs for about 4 years now, my best friend raised them from tadpoles so I'd be devastaed if something happened to them!

    Thank you for your help

    Lana

To be perfectly honest, I would separate the fish and frogs during the treatment period. You didn't mention which species of ACFs you have. If you have the larger Xenopus laevis, 30(C) can be quite harmful if not fatal.

I would definitely separate them, if you can, while you treat the fish. Otherwise, you will be putting their health at risk for sure.
