It is difficult to sex African bullfrogs when they are juveniles. You can tell that they are young by the vertebral stripe. Breeding males are often distinguished by yellow or orange blotches on and under the forelegs. You know that there are two species in the genus Pyxicephalus that are very common in the pet trade. According to my African frog field guides, it appears that you MIGHT have a dwarf bullfrog. The dwarf has a white spot in the tympanum, there is a faint interorbital bar (the line across the head connecting the two eyes and that the distance between the eye to the tympanum is about the same as the eye's diameter and the coloration is brownish-green. I could be wrong, just wait and see.

It's not a dwarf, don't worry. They look very different in proportions and colours, the dwarfs also look much cuter and cartoony. This is how my giant bullfrog looked like when I first got it. No idea what sex it is, though.

Sorry if my comments caused any consternation or anger. These were my first impressions. I hope it is a giant because that's is what most people prefer. Actually, I prefer the dwarfs. The genus Pyxicephalus has undergone some major changes over the past few years and things are getting confusing. There is one "old" subspecies that has recently been elivated to species status (Pyxicephalus angusticeps) - this particular species used to be a subspecies of the dwarf; and one or two new ones that have been identified through DNA. A while ago on Frog Forum, there was a interesting yet vigorous debate on what is the difference between a dwarf and giant. You may want to check out these threads:

Your frog looks like a giant still too early to be 100% sure but my first guess would be male
