Thread: Is this tank suitable for Green Tree Frogs?

Question Is this tank suitable for Green Tree Frogs?

At some point in the future, I wanted to get two American Green Tree Frogs, and I saw that one person in this video had this type of tank, a Mini Tall Exo Terra Allglass Terrarium which is 12”x 12”x 18”. I just want to check if that would be suitable for the frogs? It doesn't say how many gallons it is, and I have no experience with owning frogs, so I'm quite unsure.

Great question, I will be looking at this until i'm comfortable to adopt my own and save him from the petstore.

Since no one's answered I'll say that it might work because the frogs are small. However the size of the frogs isn't the most crucial thing in determining the size of the tank. I'm not sure if there would be enough room for them to take leaps.

Not large enough, I'm afraid. I tried this tank and you'd hear them bash off the walls. Good books will advise at least a 20-gallon minimum for adults of this species, which is the 18 cubed Exo Terra. The 24" tall one is better as you will be able to add a drainage substrate and plant the tank. Although they're small, they're very active at night and appreciate as much space as you can give them. Larger tanks also mean you don't need to fully clean them as often and so not disturb your frogs all the time

Is the absolute minimum for one, I personally wouldn't keep one in anything smaller than a 18x18x24" tank, though

Might be a little short but if you don't want to do a false bottom or planted tank it should be okay.

If you want to get your frog comfy, they would have to be able to do a full jump without hitting the wall.

Hey guys, my frog seems to really enjoy climbing the ropes and plants I put in his 18x18x18. He/she is very quiet and eating and pooping like normal so that is great news! His color seems to be bright all the time! I only plan on keeping one in my 18x18x18 but it sure does look like a jungle in there.
