Exclamation Want/Questions: Female Blue Phase White's Tree Frog

    Hello!

I am looking to buy a female blue phase white's tree frog and I have done A LOT of research but some have been not clearly answered:

    How often/do female's croak?

What kind of plants are good for their habitat and is it needed to have real plants vs. fake?

Also if I wanted to include outside structures for her enclosure would I have to sanitize them? If so, how?

I am having trouble finding a frog of this type from online vendors because most do not look ethical (any suggestions?) and I have had a lot of trouble finding a breeder in the Georgia area (any suggestions?). As of now, I am waiting to call Petco on Thursday to see if they can include blue phase's in their next order and I can pick one up when they are in (this is a suggestion I have read about online). Do you have an alternatives for finding the frog I want?

Other suggestions and comments would be much appreciated, thanks so much!!

    Tessa

First, females croak when they're startled or grabbed by a male when they don't want to be. Usually it's just a short chirp.

Plants needed are anything they can hide in. If you have a bioactive tank you'd use live plants (see the section on Vivariums in the forum for more info on that.) Otherwise, artificial is fine as long as there are no sharp pointy things.

Outside structures? You mean like an outdoor enclosure? Sanitizing would be a good idea to make sure there isn't chemical residue or pathogens.

Hi, for the finding one part check out Sand Fire Dragon ranch. I don't know if he sells individual or wholesale but he produces some of the nicest blue phase and snowflake whites I have seen.

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback! Super helpful. And I meant that I wanted to include like climbing structures and/or decor in the terrarium and wondered if I should sanitize those before using them?

Yeah, it's probably best to sanitize them first.
