Hi,
I am looking for a species of tree frog that doesn't need lots of space (20 gallons for a group of about 4), is not territorial (I would like a group of them), has relatively easy care, and is inexpensive. Once I have had them for a while I might attempt breeding them, so they should also have easy breeding (without a rain chamber). I have heard about reed frogs, but i can't seem to find any in my area. If you know of a good species, please tell me and if possible, also where I can get some in southern Ontario.
Thanks
There aren't many species of tree frogs that fit those qualifications. The most you might get into there is probably around 3. I hope someone else can give you more advice.
I just did some research and found that you can have about 5 fire belly toads in a 20 gallon tank, so although they are not a tree frog, that could be an option.
You could get Green or Gray tree frogs, cheap, easy to care for and do well at normal room temperatures. They are small and a group could fit in a 20 gallon high, but for most tree frogs larger housing is required. Most, if not all tree frogs I'm aware of will need a rain chamber for breeding
Well I'm sure that with grays and greens you could give them a cold period, wait for the males to start calling, throw them together into a bucket of water with some sticks and see what happens.
Thanks so much to all that have replied!!! I will do some research and check out these frog species!
P.S. I am still open to more options so if someone reads this please keep on replying!!!
Thanks
