The two tadpoles I took in from the petstore a week or so ago are on the fast track to becoming froglets. I have named them Huck (the larger one) and Finn (the little one). Finn, though being the smaller of the two, has more developed back legs. And, checking on them this morning, I noticed Finn has since sprouted strong looking front legs, while Huck will probably reveal his later today or tomorrow morning. The attached pics are of them yesterday afternoon. I am now facing the very real situation of having three very young and very hungry froglets on my hands!
It's exciting to read your posts. Ever since you started the "Poe" threads, I keep checking the feeder goldfish we get in to see if I'll find a tadpole again. lol.
It's rather amusing on my end-I have never raised a tadpole until recently, and now I have a froglet and two super morphing tadpoles on my hands!! Unlike Poe and his issues, these two, especially Finn, seem to be super healthy and I have a feeling that within the next week, I will have two more frog mouths to feed. I'm excited but nervous as well. I need to find a bulk food supplier fast!! Wish me luck-lol!
Good luck! lol.
But it's gotta be pretty cool to raise from tadpole to froglet to frog. You'll enjoy it.
I am enjoying it, which is a bit of a surprise. I didn't think it would be all that exciting, but I am literally on the edge of my seat with Poe...then again, I don't get out much, either. I jsut wish my daughter wasn't gone this month to her Grandparents; she won't get a chance to see any of the legs coming, or the new mouths forming, or anything. I think she would be just as excited as I am!
There will be more tadpoles in your future, so no worries there.
Lol-everyone keeps saying that but for the next bit, I'm good with no tadpoles. But...I have a feeling you're right.....
Managed to take a couple of pics. These two are so spastic that it's hard to get a pic before they take off again. Little buggers....

Yes, I have resigned myself to the fact that they are, indeed, Bullfrogs. They are growing on me, but I am still not sure if I can handle three of them....
