Hello,
I got my baby white's last Friday (today is Thursday). He ate three crickets on Saturday, but he has not eaten since. He was moved from a small carrier he was in for the first two days to a large terrarium on Monday and he's been hiding on ever since. I have left crickets in a bowl for him but he still has yet to eat them. I noticed yesterday he was kind of olive green on his back, today his color seems back to the soft green, but he is in the same spot and did not move. Granted he is now in a preschool classroom so it is quite noisy, but I covered all sides of the tank with dark paper to give him some privacy. When should I start to really be concerned and how can I fix this?! Thanks!
When you say that you left the crickets in a bowl, does that mean they are already dead? Being ambush hunters, most frogs like to see a moving target. Other than that, the move to the classroom has probably scared him a bit and it may take a while before he adjusts. Though in a noisy classroom he may have a hard time doing so. You may have to resort to tweezer feeding after all the kiddies leave. Good luck.
They are alive in the bowl. Sides are deep enough that they cannot escape, they slide down.
