Like you said, variety is key. Crickets can be gut loaded but still aren't the best feeders in regards to protein ratio (although they are acceptable). Nightcrawlers are high in calcium and are a meatier source of food. Dubia Roaches don't fly or crawl up glass. Keep them the same as crickets but be sure to have higher humidity and a heat source.

A while when provided with deep, cool soil and foods, (Like a banana peel when you eat one, just put table scraps that won't poison it or a frog/toad) they just don't breed often, If you feed your animals often or have a large amount of them, (Which I did) they won't last long, because you can't breed them. Like when you go to a store and get meal-worms or wax-worms, it's the same for the night-crawlers

There are plenty of places where you can get them: http://www.canadiannightcrawlers.com/ http://www.gollonbait.com/q/live-bai...n-nightcrawler and http://www.bestbait.com/Canadian-Nig...FLAT-NIGHT.htm just to name a few. They should be fine for a month, you could ask here or on our sister forum Caudata.org, but yet again, I don't know if they last that long, because all my animals ate them before I had a chance to test how long they'd survive
