In addition to letting them hunt, I would like to tong feed the phyllomedusa so I can have a little more control on who eats what. For example, feed them a nice dubia and then have some crickets in there that they can hunt.
I am sure that you guys have come up with a way to do that. When I present a wiggling food item to my (awake, in the evening) frogs, they either completely ignore it or if I get close to them they literally turn around.
Maybe it is necessary to make sure they fast for a few days to be sure they are really hungry? That makes me a little nervous but if it is safe I would try it. Since so many of you do this I hope you can help me figure this out.
In addition, I have tried food items including crickets, phoenix worms, mealworms in a dish left overnight many times with none ever taken.
