Hi!
I decided to maybe remove the substrat (coco husk) from my wtf terrarium and replace it by simple towel paper (to prevent them to swallow the substrat while chasing since I would like to try to start to make them hunt instead of always hand feed them and also to make them do a little bit of exercice.
But I have a heating pad under the tank, would the bottom of the terrarium be too hot for them when they'll sit on the paper towel? I think the substrate helps to isolate from the direct heat but remember some of you do put only paper towel (maybe because in this case there is no heating pad?)
Thank you!
You'd be safer with a thermostat to make sure the bottom doesn't get too hot, but on the other hand, I would guess that tree frogs shouldn't be hanging out on the bottom too much.

Like aliza said you should be using a thermostat with a heat mat which will maintain temps at the right temps but for tree frogs a low wattage heat lamp is better
Always use a thermostat. I have my heat pad higher up on the side of my viv leaving the bottom slightly cooler so the frog can thermoregulate. Iv never had any problems with this method. Just something for you to consider.
